I.Kyrie

III.Sanctus – Benedictus
IV.Agnus Dei

No less than ten Masses, numerous Latin hymns and antiphons, Hungarian religious texts and canticles set to music for solo voices and choir, accompanied by various instrumental ensembles or just the organ... It is clear, that sacred music is of real importance in György Selmeczis’s œuvre. His sixth mass (2007) deals with the missa brevis form of the liturgical text (i.e. without a Credo section), skillfully worked out for often divided choral parts, accompanied by an organ. The style of the composition is characteristic and witty: the composer uses the musical elements of distant musical worlds (baroque, Gregorian, Hungarian folk song) with his characteristic light playfulness.
